The GTF Thor was a heavy assault fighter that was widely used by the [[Galactic Terran Alliance]] during the [[Terran-Vasudan War]]. It is a playable fighter in [[Twist of Fate]] and was eventually replaced by the [[GTF Hercules]]. The Thor's spaceframe was modified to create the [[GTB Athena]], and most Thors in service were modified to Athena specifications. The Thor has a stronger hull but weaker shields and less agility than the Hercules.

The Thor is the GTA's heavy assault fighter. Large and ungainly, the Thor makes up for its lack of poise with massive firepower. The Thor has five gun mounts and two large missile banks, giving it more firepower than any other ship in the GTA fleet. Its sturdy hull can take quite a beating as well. The Thor is sure to please anyone with a fondness for firepower. However, if you want to outmaneuver anything else in the sky, the Thor is not the ship for you.

{{comment|Very, very slow, but extremely powerful in the pre-shields era. With six gun mounts using the Athena's gun placement, the Thor can rip apart Vasudan fighters in no time, especially with Penetrators, and it can take much more abuse than the [[GTF Apollo|Apollo]]. Just watch your six, because if a Vasudan gets on your tail when you're in a Thor, it will be very hard to shake him. The Thor is effectively obsolete the moment you get the Hercules.}}
