Ancamna-class cruiser

Description:

Blue Planet: War in Heaven Tech Description

The Ancamna, like most other Gaian Effort warships, is an old civilian ship repurposed for combat. Originally a pre-Great War trade ship used to ply the outer reaches of the Sol system, resourceful Effort engineers bolted weapons emplacements and armour slabs onto the hull wherever there was space. The result is an effective, if crude light cruiser able to threaten fighter wings and lightly-armored large ships.

Name Origin

Ancamna is a goddess in Celto-Roman religion who was worshipped especially in France's Moselle River valley. She is the consort of two different deities who were syncretized with Mars at the time.

Packs a respectable punch and good AA screen for a ship its size. The ship itself is highly fragile, as are its turrets; this ship is usually taken down with missiles and gunfire alone. Ultimately, a great mini-cruiser for a supplamental AA screen/escort and decent anti-ship firepower against smaller targets--but only in a supporting role. Don't expect this thing to go toe-to-toe with a given cruiser and win unless the other ship has most of its turrets destroyed. Avoid getting within 2km if you're facing this as an enemy, as its Fusion Mortar can hit you inside that range, and its Fusion Mortar is one of its most powerful anti-ship weapons.

It is longer than the Tev Cretheus, on par with the UEC Custos, and is significantly more heavily armed than both of them. Its health is, however, Fenris-grade, ie. half that of its two competitors. You can tell that the Gefs packed as much weaponry as they could on those ships without much regard to potential structural weaknesses.
