FTFx Thor

Description:

Tech Room Description

After the capture of 6 prototype compact particle beam cannons, Federal R and D needed a practical way to employ them. the Thor fighter was borne from this need and was quite literally built around the gun. the size of the fighter delivered some added perks mainly in its enormous secondary weapon capacity. It also benefits from captured GTVA electronics packages and shield systems as well as advanced armor plating also captured from the GTVA which when summed up produces a fighter with extreme firepower and survivability that is more than a match for anything the GTVA has fielded to date. The only drawback is that there are only six of these fighters in existence. From a pilot's view point, it has received high marks for speed, but is sluggish in turns and possess excellent weapon compatibility. This fighter is also equipped with an Auto Slide feature, (consult the manual on how to use this feature) that enables to pilot to change his facing with out changing direction, great for 90 degree turns in combat or strafing runs. To date, these fighter are still awaiting pilot and carrier assignment.

The Thor's Hammer in Dawn of Sol is not a joke. Sure it eats up all your gun energy, but it's deadly enough to basically destroy any foolish fighter in your way or you can "sweep" the beam to cut across and kill multiple turrets at once.
