If you wait for the NTC ''Majestic'' and ''Refute'' to finish most of their waypoints and ''then'' destroy their fighter escort so the Colossus will jump in, the NTF cruisers will end up in the Colly's upper-rear beam blindspot and will slowly pound the juggernaut to death. ACT 1, MISSION 10

Fighter squadron: 242nd Suicide Kings
Description: The Colossus goes on the offensive

Background

The GTVA takes the Colossus on the offensive, hoping to break the backbone of Admiral Koth's fleet, the NTD Repulse.

Walkthrough

Not an easy one. You have to face a whole squadron of GTF Hercules fighters, and two hostile cruiser (NTC Majestic and NTC Refute). They are both of GTC Fenris-class, but they are a danger for your squadron. Try to lure the fighters away. You can lure 6 fighters away on the first approach. Try to avoid face-to-face combat, they have more firepower and their shields are better. But you are more maneuverable and faster, if you get on well with an interceptor fighter, you can take down the Hercules fighters without much trouble.

Taking down the second group of fighters is far more difficult. Approach on the fighters carefully, and pull back if they seem to begin approaching on you. You have to do the same like you did with the first wave, but the cruisers here are within firing range, so this part is far more difficult. Take down some of the anti-fighter beams, and after it, assist your wingmen in taking down the fighters. After the fighters are down, do not continue (or start) attacking the cruisers. Pull back and rearm.

The GTVA Colossus will jump in and will take care of the cruisers. But it is not over here, an NTF destroyer (NTD Repulse) jumps in and attack the GTVA Colossus. She is also launching fighters, you should engage those. The Colossus will handle the destroyer. Pull back to the GTC Rampart and wait until the hostile fighters get within its range. The Rampart is not endangered by the Repulse.

Kr's Notes : For some awkward reason, the Repulse gets halfway inside the colossus sometimes before it is destroyed... and when it blows up, it does a whooping damage on the colossus.

Notes

If you wait for the NTC Majestic and Refute to finish most of their waypoints and then destroy their fighter escort so the Colossus will jump in, the NTF cruisers will end up in the Colly's upper-rear beam blindspot and will slowly pound the juggernaut to death. The Colossus will remain immobile and unable to return fire, as all of its beams are mounted on the side and front.
