The faithful Vesuvius light space superiority fighter has served the GTVA for many years since its inception in 2389. Although considered an unconventional design at that time, the fighter's combination of flight performance and an adaptable weapons configuration easily set it above its peers. It can carry almost all standard GTVA weapons, including the Assassin bomb, as the situation demands. A solid and agile all-round fighter.

INFR1 Tech Room Description

The faithful Vesuvius light space superiority fighter has served the GTVA for many years since its inception in 2389. Although considered an unconventional design at that time, the fighter's combination of flight performance and an adaptable weapons configuration easily set it above its peers. It can carry almost all standard GTVA weapons, including the Assassin bomb, as the situation demands. A solid and agile all-round fighter.

Inferno: Knossos Tech Room Description

Advanced Terran space superiority fighter.

RNI Systems' Vesuvius spaceframe incorporates the latest developments in propulsion systems, active armor, and next-generation ballistic weaponry to produce a fighter that is faster, more maneuverable, and more lethal than the Mihos, without sacrificing durability. These fighters have entered limited deployment with Special Operations Command, and plans are in place to begin distributing the Vesuvius to front-line units within the next few months. If the Vesuvius passes its OpEval period, it will replace the Mihos as the primary Terran space superiority fighter, and the Mihos will assume a support role.

Veteran Comments

Please read the Veteran Comments policy before editing this section.

For a standard-issue fighter, it handles relatively well and its loadout compatibility is excellent. The only problem is its paint job, because it is very easy to mistake one of these for a Shivan craft. A second possible issue may lie in its gun points, which are in unorthodox locations (two below the chin and two to the right).

One of the most considerable features of the Vesuvius is the capability of carrying the Assassin torpedo, a relatively weak but still effective torpedo. This allows the Vesuvius to engage corvette sized ships and below and devastate convoys with ease. When facing capital ships, the Assassin is better off used against vital subsystems and turrets.
