The GVC Mekhet is a fan-made Vasudan cruiser created by Galemp.

The original release pack included several different themed skins. These variants featured varying insignia and glow colors specific to individual Vasudan factions, including the PVN (light blue), GTVA (light green) and Hammer of Light (red), as well as yellow, blue, pink and gold skins with different letters of the (non-canon) Vasudan alphabet. Also included were different table entries balanced for FreeSpace 1-era, Reconstruction-era and Post-Capella-era campaigns. The version pictured is the PVN (FS1-era) incarnation.

Description:

Tech Room Description (FS1-era)

The Vasudans' heaviest cruiser, the PVC Mekhet, outclasses our own Fenris cruisers in armor, but with fewer turrets. The cruiser is, however, the slowest warship in either fleet, making it easier to outrun or evade than confront directly. Mekhets are too slow to be deployed on the front lines, and have only been encountered defending installations and jump nodes in core Vasudan systems.

Tech Room Description (Reconstruction)

The Mekhet-class heavy cruiser was slated to replace the Aten in the Vasudan navy when the Shivans attacked. Though a few prototypes were constructed, production came to a halt when Sahr's Altair shipyards were captured by the Hammer of Light. It is unknown whether the HoL built any of these cruisers for their own purposes.

Tech Room Description (Post Capella)

Designed as a defensive counterpart to the Mentu, the GVC Mekhet is a capable warship with a diverse array of weaponry, including beam cannons, anti-fighter beams, flak guns and pulse turrets. The Mekhet's configuration is heavily armored, and has proven itself capable of going toe-to-toe with any enemy cruiser.

Series Resurrecta Tech Room Description

The revolutionary Mekhet design is the PVN's late answer to the Leviathan - a rather slow but heavily armed and armored cruiser more than capable of dealing with any competitor of its size. Introduced into active service mere days before the end of the Great War, it did not see any action in the conflict, but played a role in the last PVN efforts to push the Shivans back following the destruction of the Lucifer. Although it is not meant for mass production, as more advanced designs are to be developed in the years to come, each major battlegroup has been assigned no less than three Mekhet cruisers and even the Hammer of Light relies on some of these cruisers as the backbone of various strike groups. The Mekhet will not be the fundament of tomorrow's PVN fleets, but is an extremely vital transition class between the residual fleets that survived the last major conflicts and future fleets.
