Veteran Comments

The Mentu is victim of poor weapons placement. Its main weaponry, flaks and AAA beams, is pointed upwards; attack from below, and pay the most attention to enemies below. It is also worth noting that, despite the techroom description, the Mentu mounts no anticapital beams.

I think the horrible GVC Aten has every right to bear no anti-warship beam cannons, but I think the Mentu should mount somthing, even a single SVas or VSlash would be better than nothing, because even with two of either of these weapons, an Aeolus can kill this cruiser, without them, there is no fight.

With only small modifications in its weaponry the Mentu could have been one of the best (maybe THE best) cruisers in the game. If you make turrets one and two SVas and 15 and 16 standard flak, its very effective. But with its standard armament the mentu is really a wastage and thats a great pitty for the best armored cruiser after the Lilith.
