The Parliamentary Vasudan Empire

Abbreviated as PVE or (non-canon) VPE. The space-based military wing of the PVE is known as the Parliamentary Vasudan Navy (PVN). Curiously, the corresponding GTA/GTN appears much less often.

The capital of the PVE was Vasuda Prime until it was devastated by SD Lucifer in 2335. Afterwards, the capital was moved to Aldebaran.

FreeSpace 2 describes the ruling Parliment of Vasuda circa the Great War as having been plagued with Byzantine infighting and serious corruption; whatever the civilian government's faults the PVN seems not to have been seriously affected by them. As Khonsu II dissolved the Parliament of Vasuda without provoking a noteable upheaval in Vasudan society, the powers of the Emperor even under the Parliamentary system must have remained relatively broad.

The Vasudan peoples were always living under parliamentary authority, leaving decisions to those who are skilled politicians, but also let Vasudan citizens to openly discuss and request changes in the Vasudan constitution.

Space exploration and expansion were carried out almost in the same way it has been at the Galactic Terran Alliance, initially, the Vasuda system was wholly used up, then with subspace, the empire expanded. Despite what the Terrans were hoping of space exploration, to find new home to replace the polluted and quickly deteriorating Earth, the Vasudans simply strived to find a more ideal planet to cultivate its terrain and use it for an economic prosperity. The Ribos and the Aldebaran systems both contained planets capable to supporting life. The Vasudans got accustomed to dry environment, thereby any desert-like planets were considered ideal for the Vasudan species.

Considering the fact the Vasudans were warring each other less than Terrans did, their military was not as much advanced as the Terrans'. More advantegous and advanced economy however, could have changed the tide.
Strangely enough, the balance between the two sides were even all the time.
