Does anyone have any hard facts about the current situation? I re-wrote the article some, and entered all the verifiable information I could dig up, but this seems to be it. Is it? Is someone out there withholding info about the license, the franchise, the current situation or whatnot? If so, spill you guts, ok? --Selectah 09:13, 16 December 2006 (CST)

Nope, it wasn't mr Smart, it was me. Just checking if someone would get the joke. The removed link was the only official FreeSpace 3 link there is. Indeed, Bose--the speaker/amplifier manufacturer--has a line of speakers called "FreeSpace" (notice the capitalization), and it is--surprise, surprise--a trademark. So, dear community members, we seem to be at an impasse. Regardless of the license status and its' fate (if Volition gets it via THQ, or if 3000AD gets it via bidding, or if it goes on the open market) there already is a "FreeSpace 3" product out there, so there might never exist a FS3, regardless. FreeSpace 1 had to be called "Conflict: FreeSpace" in Europe, remember? Ah, those pesky trademarks and that. Selectah 14:58, 12 September 2007 (CDT)

*Re-inserted the Bose trademark thing, since it was updated last of December, 2007. The trademark, that is. Just thought it'd make an interesting addition to the page. Selectah 09:38, 8 January 2008 (CST)

Updates?

Does anyone have any hard facts about the current situation? I re-wrote the article some, and entered all the verifiable information I could dig up, but this seems to be it. Is it? Is someone out there withholding info about the license, the franchise, the current situation or whatnot? If so, spill you guts, ok? --Selectah 09:13, 16 December 2006 (CST)

Any reason why there is a link to the BC3K Downloads page on Gamespot --phreak 16:32, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
