Veteran Comments

Please read the Veteran Comments policy before editing this section.

The Solaris is a powerful weapons platform with quite a bit of reach. It'll chew up Capella-era GTVA warships with its railguns, and like most UEF warships, it has excellent point defense. Against more modern warships like the Bellerophon and Chimera corvettes, however, its lack of beam weapons leaves it struggling. Against its true competition, the Titan and Raynor-class destroyers, the Solaris must use its fighter complement (preferably Shrike-armed gunships) to snipe forward beams if it hopes to survive. If it can close to broadside range without taking crippling damage, the Solaris' slabs of armor may give it the edge it needs to win out. As always, the outcome depends on positioning, warpin locations, and fighter tactics. General Battuta 13:31, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
