The UET Kadmos

Blue Planet: War in Heaven Tech Description

UEF heavy transport often adapted for military purposes. Ugly but functional, the Kadmos was manufactured in the hundreds as part of the late-Isolation shipping boom in Federation space. If fitted with intersystem jump drives, all of the Kadmos transports in Sol could establish a brand-new trade route stretching across the GTVA.

Developer Notes

The model was initially made by Aldo for an unspecified RTS game, presumably Sins of a Solar Empire. He later released the model on Sectorgame [1]. It was then turreted and converted as a Corvette-class ship and posted on F2S by Droid803 [2]. The Blue Planet team then took the model, removed its three forward heavy cannons as well as a number of other turrets, and scaled it down to be a transport.

Name Origin

In Greek, Roman, and Phoenician mythology, Kadmos (Κάδμος) was a Phoenician prince who was sent by his parents, the King and Queen of Tyre, to escort his sister Europa home after she had been abducted by Zeus. Kadmos is also credited by ancient Greek historians with introducing the Phoenician alphabet to Greece (giving rise eventually to the modern Latin alphabet) and with the founding of the city-state of Thebes.

The UEF's GTT Argo, in short. It does have five more turrets and 3000 more hitpoints than the Argo, but don't expect that to be sufficient if it comes under fire from a heavy attack wing.
