In FreeSpace, the [[GTA Charybdis|GTA ''Charybdis'']] and the [[GVA Setekh|GVA ''Setekh'']] are considered AWACS ships. 

They give the following advantage to all friendly targets:
*Better beam weapon accuracy
*Detection of stealth fighters and bombers
*Blocking communication and often confuse radars
*Enables confused radars to properly detect enemy craft

==Notes to mission designers==
The AWACS ship should lose its ability after its radar dome is destroyed. You have to manually script it in your Events Menu. Use the [[is-subsystem-destroyed-delay]] and the [[set-awacs-radius]] commands to do this.
