Description
- The story revolves around an Outpost Traffic cop, aspiring to become a GTA fighter pilot. He gets his chance when he finds himself in the wrong place at the right time. When a rebel faction of GTA mercenaries arises, GTA Command is quick to blame Earth-based anti-colonization groups. Unfortunately for all of humanity, it goes much deeper than that.
New ships:none
Comments
The campaign won Interplay's 1998 Mission Design Contest in the single player category, and was subsequently included in the Silent Threat expansion disc for Descent: FreeSpace. Interplay also made the campaign available as downloadable content on their FTP server. The downloadable version was fully voiced. The officially released version was not voiced, however, due to a decision by Volition, Inc.
Note: the campaign has been ported both to FreeSpace 2 and FSO.
Certainly the best FS1 campaign of all. No glaring typos, well-designed missions, and an excellent storyline and atmosphere.
Availability
Destiny of Peace has been re-released by the FreeSpace Campaign Restoration Project for FreeSpace 2 SCP.
The FS1 campaign is still available from the Volitionwatch Archives. However, the Volitionwatch Archives are not being maintained anymore, so it is just a matter of time before the below link stops functioning. However, the nukelol link should work.
