The Polaris was one of the earliest mods created for FreeSpace; modeled, textured and converted by Dark in 1999 as the GTCD Polaris. It was intended as a modular space dock that could be arranged in any configuration. It has since been ported to FreeSpace 2 and FreeSpace Open.
A Vasudan reskin, PVI Shah, was also created by Dark. The FreeSpace Port has enhanced models and textures for both variants.
