The Arcas was designed to be a far more secure military base than the older Arcadias. However, once the first Warlock supercarriers began to take over the fleet headquarters role, the need for static base was greatly reduced. Nevertheless, the Arcas serves as a front line military base and repair yard for GTVA vessels where static fortifcations are desirable, and is also compatible with extensions to the Arcadia station.
