One of the first user-made ships ever created for FreeSpace, the Vasudan Mine was originally created by Dark during 1999 for the original FreeSpace game. The Vasudan Mine was later included in the FreeSpace Port as a Vasudan NavBuoy in collidable and non-collidable forms.

An advanced form of Vasudan mine developed just before the end of the T-V war.
The Vasudan NavBuoy is widely used in both civilian and military fields. It stores precalculated jump coordinates and other navigational data for use by Vasudan convoys, and it is also capable of acting as a communications relay.
