The [[GTF Apollo|Apollo fighter]] is the original Space Superiority Fighter in the Terran fleet.  It is the first ship granted to commissioned GTA pilots and the easiest to use.  With two secondary banks, it also can be used as a substitute for Assault, and thus is the most versatile ship.  It's not as fast as the [[GTF Ulysses|Ulysses]] or as maneuverable.  It has the least weapon compatibility out of any ship, which is its primary disability.  This ship does have a slightly better hull and shields than the Ulysses.

Volition, Inc. was the developer and publisher of the FreeSpace series. Volition is usually referred to simply as V or [V] by fans. It was one of two companies formed from the splitting of Parallax Software.


Since its acquisition by THQ, Volition worked on and released several noteworthy game titles, including the Summoner, Red Faction and Saints Row series.


On September 1st, 2023, Volition formally announced its closure as part of a restructuring by Embracer Group. (more...)
