Tech Room Description
Seeing the need to continually upgrade and add more capabilities to the Earth Alliance military, the Thunderbolt class StarFury is the latest incarnation of the extremely successful design. The Thunderbolt is the first Earth Alliance fighter that is able to fly both in atmosphere and in space. Each Thunderbolt has a two person crew and it carries significant firepower through its fixed-direction pulse cannons. Additional firepower is provided from its missile payloads which allow attacks against ground targets and slow-moving space-faring vessels. The Thunderbolt is both faster and more maneuverable than the Aurora class and is equal to the previous fighter in durability.
Veteran Comments
The Thunderbolt handles very well and has a more manageable gun setup then the Aurora, and despite having only one gun it is also more powerful. It also has the advantage of guided (sort of) missiles. It possesses an exceptionally small target profile and a good ability to handle punishment as well. While probably not as capable as a Nial, the Thunderbolt comes in a close second.
