The Amaterasu is the most ambitious construction project ever launched. The largest vessel in the history of the Terran and Vasudan species, it was finished in under 12 years, financed privately by the Sherida-Atsu Industrial Group. The tight schedule necessitated the development of a new assembly-by-unit technique. The ship was assembled in components ranging from cruiser to destroyer size and then merged into their final form at a shipyard somewhere in Regulus. The Amaterasu is 7.2 km long, 2 km high and 3 km wide. Its massive fighterbays can house over 600 fighters and bombers, and it poses an enormous threat to anything, able to deal destruction from 169 different weapon systems.
