Description: The Knossos destroyed
Background
The GVCv Renenet will oversee the deployment of several TC-Meson super bombs that will destroy the Knossos portal in an attempt to prevent the Shivans from reaching allied space.
Walkthrough
- Recommended load out: GVF Seraphis, 2 Prometheus S, all Harpoon
You begin with a few fighters in the Knossos. They don't engage. Therefore, Command orders you lure them to the Renenet. Now, you have two choices. You can:
- Tell Alpha to guard the Renenet, and lure them yourself.
- You can order them to engage enemy or cover you. Destroy the fighters.
After the fighters have been destroyed, Lambda 1 jumps in with the Meson-Bomb 1. Some dialogue as Lambda 1 places the bomb before jumping out. When the bomb was a about to detonate, 12 SF Dragon jumps in. Don't worry, they all get blasted up from the explosion by the Meson 1.
The Knossos remains, so Command puts the remaining two Meson bombs in. Some SF Maras arrive to challenge you. Destroy them, not that hard. And soon enough, you hear the warning to get out of the explosion. 5,4,3,2,1 BOOM! The Meson bombs tear apart the Knossos.
However, soon the SJ Sathanas jumps in. Get out of there and go advance to your next sortie.
Note
On higher difficulty levels there's no way you can handle 6 Astaroths and several waves of Maras on your own. Either lure the enemy fighters to the Renenet's flak and do evasive rolls for five minutes straight while the fighters are picked off, or use a bait-and-trap strategy (like in The Roman's Blunder) to make the hostiles run into your wingmen while mindlessly chasing you. This one should be nothing special on Medium or below, however.
