In the original version of Age of Aquarius, the Inquisitor had a ludicrous 8000 shield hitpoints, making nearly all weapons useless against it, save beams. To compare, the heaviest bomber in FreeSpace 2, the SB Seraphim, has a shield system five times weaker. More significantly, this may have given the Inquisitor a slightly better rate of survivability over the Vishnan Protector in battle, which is larger and has 9000 hull, but no shields.
