Description

A pre-Capella era campaign. It takes place 13 years after the exodus of Capella with a GTVA faction mostly recovered from the second conflict against the Shivans. The year is 2380. A full year ago, Terran High Command lost contact with allied forces in the Kryer system, a newly-colonised star system not on official starcharts. The 16th Terran battlegroup has been tasked to lead an investigation by force to assess the communication breakdown. But not all will be as it seems. You are Commander Jack Fenrik, newly-appointed squadron leader of the 70th Blue Lions currently assigned the GTD Cerberus, a Tennyson-class destroyer stationed as the flagship of the 16th. What awaits yourself, your wingmen and the battlegroup in the Kryer system?

Development And Status

Initially started and created by Starwolf1991 on the 3.6.10_r4989 build, the campaign went under several story modifications, rewrites and changes to make it become more coherent and a proper continuing of the GTVA story. Cerberus Emergence's story also changed to incorporate the central character and his allies who fight side by side as the story progresses. It was largely inspired by Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius by Darius.

With a demo eventually released during the january/february part 2009, public testing could begin. The demo contains largely out of date content, but is playable and reflects mostly the stages of development leading to the proper full version still in the process of completion. At this stage, FreespaceFreak joined in the campaign's development. His contributions and work alongside Starwolf1991 has allowed the campaign to take better shape, become more flawless gameplay wise, allow more content to become added and gear closer to the final version.

As of August, all assets such as effects, graphics, weapons, ships and interface art have been fully integrated. The remaining half of the missions are still being developed and tested, as well as associated Command briefing sequences.
