These larger variants of Vishnan bombers are deployed against larger capital ships, and appear to be equipped with significantly more powerful munitions. These craft seem to serve the role of assault bomber.

In the original version of Age of Aquarius, the Inquisitor had a ludicrous 8000 shield hitpoints, making nearly all weapons useless against it, save beams. To compare, the heaviest bomber in FreeSpace 2, the SB Seraphim, has a shield system five times weaker. More significantly, this may have given the Inquisitor a slightly better rate of survivability over the Vishnan Protector in battle, which is larger and has 9000 hull, but no shields.
