The squadron was probably formed in the time of Admiral Bosch's NTF Rebellion. A fighter squadron with the same name was also used by the NTF-HoL renegade group, who attacked the GTVA in 2370.

In an especially important mission, SOC pilots disguised themselves as the members of this unit, but were revealed by an arriving Hammer wing who have just been sent a transmission, informing renegade command of the GTVA's secret operation.
