Tech Room Description

The Constellation is the most common class of carrier in the solar system. Smaller and less powerful than the Sagittarius, the Constellation nevertheless performs effectively in its designed role. Although slightly faster than the Sagittarius at sub-light speeds, the Constellation takes longer to perform an actual subspace jump. For this reason, the fighters and bombers that a Constellation deposits must often guard their mother ship until it has jumped safely to a non-combat area before beginning their mission. Every pilot knows that he must protect his carrier at all costs, for if it is destroyed, he and his flight group may find themselves at the mercy of their enemy - or worse, stranded in space.
