Tech Room Description
Supplementing the Avioki during heavy combat, the Tashkat is more of an attack frigate. Although not much larger than a Drazi Firehawk, it boasts stronger armor and more powerful primary cannons. Furthermore, unlike the Avioki, which is often part warship, part transport, the Tashkat has no cargo-carying cappacity, and thus has more space for armor, making it surprisingly durable. As its primary weapon system, it mounts 2 of the same beams mounted by the Avioki, which easily out-class those of the Firehawk. Unfortunately, these beams expend most of the ships weapon energy, leaving little for defensive weaponry. This is most evident on the vessel's ventral, which is protected by only a single turret. If the ventral turret is eliminated, the Tashkat is virtually defenseless against fighter attacks. Tashkats are rarely deployed in combat without fighter protection, and typically alongside the larger Avioki class, mainly due to the Tashkat's lack of jump engines.
