It is not encyclopedic to corrupt the use/mention distinction, imply part of a monologue is the whole monologue, or remove a link to an article (however small) on GalacticEmperor. It is certainly not encyclopedic to misquote Wikipedia's article on the Crab Nebula. These are not my opinions; these are standards that should be adhered to. The only part of your edits that might be justifiable are your phrases "HLP member" and "another fan", but those are understood from the context and are therefore superfluous. - Wikipedia's articles are changed over time, so every time someone changes those phrases, will you change the sentences here just for that? GalacticEmperor may be a very good member of the community, but I don't think he deserves a separate article on a wiki, unless it's his user page, of course. And if it is, linking there might be justifiable. And it is certainly not encyclopedic not to mention fan's names with adding a "fan" or whatever to clarify that we are not talking about a Volition staffer. - TopAce 16:47, 17 May 2007 (CDT)
- 1) The phrase on Wikipedia has not been changed for many months; it's unlikely to change soon. In any case, your editing of that sentence was grammatically unsound. 2) The context of providing links to HLP forums makes it clear who the people are. I concede your modifications to add User: to the links though. 3) I reverted your addition of the bold marks, yet again. You're confusing the use/mention distinction here. We are talking about the identity of the Nebula System, not the article "identity of the Nebula System". Also, we are linking to the Nebula System article, not overlapping the two articles "Nebula System" and "Identity of the Nebula System".
