Calyce is a planetoid in the Procyon system, rich in natural resources and subject to exploitation by the Adhara Coalition and private contractors specifically authorized by the Coalition under precise regulations. A clustered group of kilometer-sized asteroids, Creousa, Doros and Enarete, orbit Calyce and are all subject to intense industrial exploitation and the area where they're located, designated by MF-R-24-67 in Coalition records, is colloquially referred to as CDE.

As most planets and planetoids in the Serendipity campaign, Calyce is named after a celestial object from the Colony Wars series, which is a satellite orbiting the planet Midas. The other asteroids in the same area are also all named after Midas' satellites.
