Description
Tech Room Description
The largest ship in the Earth Alliance by far, the Explorer class is always probing and expanding the limits of known space. Designed to opperate for nearly a decade without needing refuelling or resupplying, an Explorer spends year after year, maping uncharted space and making first contact with new species. It is also charged with the construction and repair of new jumpgates, allowing travel to new systems. While the Explorer is equipped with multiple defence grid turrets and a full fighter squadron, it is not designed for extended or heavy combat. Fortunately, its more advanced sensors and jump engines, mean that it can detect trouble earlier, and evade it quicker than most capital ships.
