General

This technology allows space-faring craft to travel from one system to another in minutes, which otherwise would take years or decades with light speed
Unlike Intersystem jump drives, subspace drives need a stable jump node to operate on both sides. A travel estimatedly takes ten or sometimes more minutes, depending on the length of the subspace tunnel. It is strange that the size or engine capacity or ships do not affect the time needed for a successful travel.

Since the discovery of Subspace, Terran scientists strived to develop a technology to enable them to use the nodes and travel in subspace.

A Subspace drive can be reactivated even seconds after a successful jump, but it requires time to power up. A pilot is not advised to modify the energy management systems, otherwise the jump drive might malfunction. In addition, steering the powering up craft could result in a jump to an undesired location.
