Description:
Tech Room Description
The pinnacle of Colonial might, the Kiev was originally a Russian design developed shortly after Russia’s economic boom in 2245 to serve as an all-purpose deep-space exploration vessel. Only two such explorers were ever launched however, the Somov and the Senko, as the gains were by far outweighed by the costs. When Mars broke away from Earth in late 2255, the Russian colony used the original Kiev’s blueprints and added numerous gunports, fighterbays, and even replaced the old reactor core assembly. A single Kiev can carry as many as four full squadrons of bombers and packs more firepower than an entire EA carrier group. Unfortunately, the Russians do not have sufficient resources to build Kievs in numbers as only the Colonial Confederacy has access to the asteroid belt.
