The AAAh is a basic beam weapon used by the Terrans and Vasudans in FreeSpace 2. The primary purpose of the AAAh is to protect the ship it is mounted on against attacks from smaller vessels such as fighters and bombers. It is also capable of intercepting incoming bombs in addition to ships. Against smaller objects, the AAAh discharges three beams per pulse. The AAAh can also target larger warships—it will fire a single, continuous pulse—although the damage dealt is much less compared to dedicated anti-warship beams such as the BGreen.

The AAAh's miss values are exactly the same as the AAAf's, but they are flipped around, making the AAAh more accurate on higher difficulty settings and less accurate on lower ones, obviously for the purpose of being mounted on enemy warships — AAAfs are actually MORE accurate on easier difficulty settings, which poses obvious problems if they're on hostile warships.
