The GVA Setekh is an Allied Vasudan-designed Advanced Warning And Control System vessel. Its first and only canon appearance in the singleplayer FreeSpace 2 campaign was in The Fog of War, where it assisted the 203rd Scorpions and the Sobek-class corvette GVCv Tatenen in destroying a Shivan gas mining operation.
Like its Terran counterpart, the GTA Charybdis, the Setekh's primary purpose is to negate the sensor-reducing effects that nebulae has on other ships in the GTVA fleet. This is achieved by the three large sensor panels that rotate around much of the vessel's length, which effectively double the sensor range of every friendly ship in the vicinity. Its secondary functions include jamming enemy communications and detecting enemy stealth ships. The latter function allows other friendly ships to target enemy stealth ships like normal enemy ships.
Although the main role of the Setekh is to assist nearby friendly units in battle, it is ill-suited for combat—even more so, in fact, than the Charybdis—with only three low-damage turrets and minimal hull plating to ward off attackers. In addition, its sensor subsystems are vulnerable to attack and, when destroyed, will render the ship completely useless.
Strangely enough, the Setekh has been proven to be more resistant to fighter weaponry than the Charybdis, despite having lesser armor.

Description:
FS2 Tech Room Description
The GVA Setekh is the Vasudan class of AWACS vessels, comparable to the Terran GTA Charybdis class. Setekhs are smaller, less heavily armored, and have half the turrets of Charybdis ships. Despite these shortcomings, the Vasudan navy insists upon deploying Setekhs in Vasudan battle groups, claiming the Vasudan versions are more appropriate for their fleets. Setekhs' crystalline detection arrays provide their fleets with doubled radar range within the nebular region. Every Vasudan battle group operating in this theatre has a wing of Setekhs attached to it.

Veteran Comments
More or less like the Terran variant, but weaker than the GTA Charybdis. Will blow up if a bomber sneezes on it.
