Very annoying if you're not swarming them with strikecraft. Harpies can and usually do end up hitting you with a dual AAA barrage, just like when approaching a Leviathan from any side but the front. Best thing to do is take a Kayser and Tempests, then hold your primaries and secondaries down until they detonate. GTGs Harpy

The Harpy is a gunship or light cruiser, designed for the Twisted Infinities campaign.

Description:

Tech Room Description

The Terran Gunship or System Patrol ship made it's first appearance during the latter days of the NTF War. Design as a direct response to the hit and run tactics used by the NTF against civilian targets, the Harpy was briefly tested by the GTVA, but its lack of any heavy beam weapons meant that it was somewhat outclassed against the Aeolus and Deimos class ships being fielded by the NTF, leading to its rapid retirement from GTVA service.

The Harpy is fast, carries an impressive array of weapons, and, most importantly, carries a dual shield-generator, one for each side of the ship, allowing this comparatively small vessel more surviveability than it's moderately weak hull would suggest. These vessels have, almost since their first days on the market, proven very popular as civilian patrol vessels and escort ships, and stolen Gunships have also been known to play a more sinister role, as escort suppression in freebooter raids. The Harpy's growing reputation as a pirate vessel led to a GTVA attempt to ban them for civilian use, but this was overturned in a court case in 2377.

Because of their toughness, and their blistering firepower, these vessels are considered extremely dangerous foes for strikecraft, and, if deployed in groups, can pose a threat to larger vessels as well.

The Harpy is somewhat poorly utilized by Pirates in Twisted Infinities, and is not designed for fighting battles against GTVA forces alone. Deployed in groups, however, the Harpy is capable of overwhelming more powerful oponents.
