ACT 2 - MISSION 21
Fighter squadron: 74th Templars
Description: Force the Nemesis's hand.
Background
The GTVA wants to bait the Nemesis with the Ramayana's task force and flank the super-destroyer with the Bastion. The 74th is sent to cover the task force.
Walkthrough
You have three wings: Alpha of Banshees, Beta of Alves, Gamma of Vesuvius fighters. Bring some Ghost Missiles to cause area damage to bomber formations. If you are flying the Advanced Banshee, Vesuvius or Alves, have one bank dedicated to the Aquinas cannon: their long-range anti-hull effects will help against turrets and hardened bomber hulls.
This is a massive fleet defense mission, but keep one wing defending the Ramayana while another wing spreads out. Whenever any capital ships pop up, focus on the bombers above all and take pot shots on turrets when necessary.
When the Lindos-class Freedom starts its charge, Gamma and Delta Wing will attempt to counter. Watch out for a new set of unknown bombers: you can scan them for a bonus objective but their turrets can and will rip your hull out (use any massed missile response such as a Ghost or Corinthos double volley to drive them off).
On a re-arm break, the Tereus-class Resolute will try to flank and broadside the task force. Strip the starboard beams.
Once the task force clears out, the Bastion will jump in to flank the Nemesis. Go to the Bastion's aid. Take out the Nemesis' port beams. Once the Nemesis decides to call it quits, return to base.
