Noncanon Material
Please be sure to use the noncanon template, when creating pages about information that does not come directly from a source in/by Volition, and avoid mixing noncanon information into pages devoted exclusively to canon material. Reviewing the canon policy may prove helpful.
Enjoy your further involvement with the FreeSpace Wiki! -- BlueFlames 20:54, 17 May 2008 (CDT)
Reverting some changes
Some changes you've made to canon information pages such as the Freespace Universe portal and some planet pages are being or have been reverted. Note that this is not done to prevent you from editing the wiki, but simply to preserve those pages as reliable sources of canon information - Which comes only from the original retail games themselves and any further information released by Volition, the creators of Freespace.
You are more than welcome to add information on how those systems figure into your own campaign or mod, but instead of modifying canon pages, please make a seperate section with new pages for it, and then link to your campaign on the User-made Campaigns page. That way, you will have complete freedom to flesh out your version of the game universe without any of us grumpy bastards going around and saying "Hey! Don't touch that!" ;) -- Shade 13:20, 19 May 2008 (CDT)
- Forgot to mention this: If you need the information from the pages that have been reverted, it is still available through the 'history' button at the top of each page. Using that, you will be able to copy your version of the pages into new pages specific to your campaign without redoing the work. -- Shade 13:28, 19 May 2008 (CDT)
Please respond
If you're reading this, please let us know in any way you can, preferably by adding a comment to your Talk page, followed by four tidles (~~~~) to sign it. We need to know if you notice and understand our messages to you. - TopAce 06:54, 20 May 2008 (CDT)
Warning
As I have said earlier, please do not modify canon pages to include non-canon material, but instead make a section for whatever campaign idea it is you're referring to with all that stuff. I was nice before, but I will not continue to be if you continue to misuse this Wiki. Consider this an official warning. - Shade 09:03, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
Second Warning
Let me make this perfectly, crystal clear, and for the last time: Do Not Add Made Up Info To Canon Pages. Only information from Freespace 1, Freespace 2, Silent Threat or the Freespace Reference Bible is acceptable on such pages, everything else should go on custom pages related to whichever mod or campaign they belong to. This is your last warning about this. Do it again, and you will be given temporary ban to get the point across. Shade 12:35, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
To be fair, the latest information added to Tegmen and Altair was information from Derelict, not from his own continuity. But this doesn't change the fact that it is non-canon information, of course. - Snail 12:46, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
The Tegmen page was one he made himself, so I don't care about it. He can do with it what he wants to. But Altair is a canon system, and I've warned him about messing with those before, so he should know better. Shade 12:48, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
Still alive?
