Description:
FS1 Tech Room Description
The Isis transport is quite fast and maneuverable for a ship of its size. Most often it is used for personnel transfer, although occasionally they have been known to act as repair ships and tugboats. It is well protected with its turrets, and it is not unheard of for the PVN to use a wing of Isises to conduct an assault on a fortified position.
FS2 Tech Room Description
The GVT Isis is most often used as a military personnel transport but also occasionally serves as a repair ship or even a tugboat, helping to maneuver large vessels into docking bays. Two cannon turrets and thick molybdenum plating serve to protect its cargo. Magnetic cargo locks located on the Isis's undercarriage enable it to transport small cargo containers of supplies and munitions in emergencies.

Veteran Comments
I've always wondered how the tall Vasudans fit in this thing. Tactically it's good, very hard to hit with good turret defenses and it tends to fly around a lot when hit.
This ship can act very... strangely... I've seen it do some weird flips and maneuvers that are quite impressive for a lumpy flying piece of junk... And it has a slim profile, and is half the size of an GTT Elysium. Because of those facts, it can be a difficult target to hit, especially when it starts flipping.
This is apparently because the tables give the Isis unequal maneuverability across coordinate planes. Simply put, look at this ship's "Rotation Time" entry in Ships.tbl. Most, if not all, other ships have equal rotation times in all planes.
It's illogical that this small transport could act as a "repair ship", as if an Isis someone held repair equipment that couldn't fit onto a destroyer. It is used in this capacity in several canon and user-made missions, however.
