The SRed is a beam cannon used by the Shivans in FreeSpace 2. It is mounted on at least three of their warships, including the SC Cain and SCv Moloch. Among all Shivan beams, the SRed has the longest recharge cycle, topping out at 25 seconds. It is often considered to be the Shivan counterpart to the SGreen and SVas.

Standard beam mounted on Shivan cruisers and corvettes. It is far more effective than the Terrans' SGreen and marginally less effective than the Vasudans' SVas. There is some debate over this beam's performance over the TerSlash, even though the TerSlash does 2.2X the sustained damage, the SRed is far more accurate.
