Outer Rim Syndicate - Hephaestus Factory Ship

Ezakiya-Boherr Heavy Industries' largest and most ambitious project, the MCCV-2-class factory ships are one of the most important space vessels in the ORS fleet. Designed during the Martian War as a response to the Federate aggresive strikes against Syndicate's infrastructure, the MCCV-2 Hephaestus industrial C&C ship can act as a command centre, logistic hub, vehicle dock, heavy excavator, drilling station, refinery and mostly as a mobile factory and field manufacturing centre. Every day thousands of light fighters, missiles, torpedoes, ammunition and spare parts leave the hangarbays of these massive vessels. Its modular design allows a crafty skipper to tailor it to alternative roles. Altough it is a almost 2-km behemoth with capital-grade armour, the Hephaestus is armed no better than the Great War-era Orion-class destroyer and requires protection against Shivan bombers and warships. The Hephaestus can serve as a self-sufficient production centre, producing and deploying mining drones from raw materials collected from asteroid fields. When not occupied by extracting resources, it holds position in primary staging areas of Colony Fleet and are heavily protected. THe Syndicate has only 4 ships of this class - ORFS Hephaestus, ORFS Qatna, ORFS Ida Lewis and ORFS Denoran.

Similar to the ORCo Abraham, the Hephaestus is a capital-sized ship with lots of hitpoints but no real weaponry. In comparison to the Abraham that is at least armed with tons of blob turrets of various kinds, the Hephaestus has almost none. Only four of its turrets are missile launchers. The rest is pretty much useless against enemy craft, but actually enough to defend the ship from incoming asteroids and torpedoes. It will withstand some pummeling for quite a while, but anyway it will eventually die. It's very similar in terms of overall performance to the FS1 Orion, but equipped with four hangarbays asymmetrically on the left side.
