ACT 1 - MISSION 17

Fighter squadron: 74th Templars

Description: Defend the Independence from a massive Shivan strike.

Background

The GTCa Independence is under attack in high orbit of Jericho (the fifth planet of Delta Serpentis). The 74th Templars are scrambled to assist.

Walkthrough

Interception is the name of the game.

Alpha Wing will be flying Banshees with a Hastor and Vulcan plus racks of Shadow and Corinthos missiles. Beta Wing consists of Ereshkigals. Kappa Wing consists of Hercules Mark III fighters.

Start off with taking out Brahma Wing of Seraphim bombers, followed by Deva of Shaitans.

The Lamia-class Roa will try to block the escape of the Litai, use a double Corinthos shot to take out the main beam. Once that's done, you can ignore the Roa.

The Moloch-class Malachite will come in escorted by bombers. Again, use a double Corinthos. Take out the Nahema bombers in Genma wing. Epsilon Wing of Euryales will attempt to strike the Malachite with the Turku. Set your wings to Engage the Enemy to cover as much space as possible and to deter Shivore and Lakshmi wings.

Once the Malachite is dealt with, clear out the fighter screen from the Ravana-class Kalanemi. Some bombers will slip through, so deal with them next.

The Vasudans will send their reinforcement cruisers, as will the Shivans. Again, use a double Corinthos to take out the marked beam cannons. Then go get involved in the furball with the Dragons (do not let them draw you to the hostile flak screens). Watch out for Taurvi bombers and their heavy warheads.

Once that's done, the Kismat will come in. Thankfully, the Bastion comes in to save the day. Return to base once you've seen the fireworks.

You will get a bonus should the Independence have 20% integrity or higher.
