Wings of Dawn Tech Room Description
The primary Fura'ngle fighter has been designated the Sweeper. A moderately maneuverable craft, the Sweeper has a powerful shield generator, but a frail hull. Its primary armament consists of low-yield pulse cannons which favour rate of fire over accuracy or hitting power, mounted in a forward triple gun mount and on three omnidirectional turret spheres. The Sweeper lacks missile banks and anti-ship weaponry and is a dedicated anti-strikecraft platform. The Sweeper's hull material, Gemium, appears to be a more extreme version of reflective armor, being highly resistant to energy-based weapons, but exceedingly frail to solid projectile weapons.

While the tech description says that it is a medium fighter, I think that it would more fit a role as a pure escort fighter. The single Sweeper isn't that dangerous if you take a look at your shields. HOWEVER, think twice before attacking a formation of Sweepers. Those three turrets have a fairly high ROF (and they also "lack" the FOF of the primary) and can rip you apart. It also get better if they fly together with the Zy Azures/Talons which have turrets to.
