Description:

Tech Room Description

The GTC Hyperion is the first class of terran cruiser to be commissioned since the second great war. Combining the anti-fighter capabilities and speed of the outgunned Aeolus and the armor of the Leviathan, the Hyperion is a formidible target for strike craft to engage. In addition, it has been fitted with two advanced beam cannons, which draw their power directly from the main engines. A step above the standard armament for a cruiser, the Hyperion packs as much forward punch as a Deimos with a much smaller crew compliment. The hyperion is rapidly filling the ranks of the GTVA, pasing out earlier cruiser models.

The Hyperion looks like the Aeolus, but is not as effective as the Aeolus. Its guns, particularly AAA and flaks, lack the Aeolus' field of fire and frequently fail to engage targets even at relatively low angles of depression or elevation.

Large, bulky, and poorly armored cruiser. Usually comes with comparable firepower to Aeolus in form of pair of small beams, but it has worse setup of anti-fighter turrets. Default table comes with paired LRBGreen as a joke. In The Scroll of Atankharzim it comes with pair of MGreens providing it with decent anti-warship damage output.

If you want to engage it, park yourself very close to the hull, below one of the beams. It's one of several blind spots. Engine is another one.

Used to be a popular choice of modmakers before HTL era, and was among the very first hi-poly assets. Can be found mostly in old mods and now rarely used. HTL comes with Scroll turret setup.
