|The Tethys-class Fleet Carrier|
Tech Room Description
Block-one Tethys class cruisers served as command carriers in the Commonwealth navy from their initial launch in AR77 to the development of Vatla-Rivera's 'Crucio' artillery gun in AR98 and the subsequent mass-refit program. The pre-refit Tethys developed a notorious reputation for being horrifically resource-inefficient during the first Exarchy incursion, requiring extensive logistics lines to maintain its onboard squadron facilities. The ships were intended to serve as formation anchors for the then-prevalent frigate/destroyer formations and thus have little role in modern artillery cruiser doctrine. Nevertheless, due to wartime losses, a small number of pre-refit Tethys cruisers have been returned to service, performing the roles of fleet carrier and close-range fire support with their numerous railgun batteries, despite their limited endurance both in and out of combat.

An optimization and reimagined design, the carrier type Tethys is primarily based off of a kitbash of Steve-O's original Tethis-class artillery frigate (which was returretted to become Blue Planet's UEFg Narayana and later optimized), with its main guns replaced with two hangar bays, with lighter weapons taken from the pre-optimization Karuna. Aside from these changes, the turret layout is essentially identical to that of Steve-O's original Tethis, as it is intended to replace the original kitbash which can currently be found in Dimensional Eclipse.
