Flagship of the 14th Battlegroup, the Orestes is one of the finest Raynor-class destroyers serving the GTVA during the Post-Capella period. The Orestes led the task force sent to Sol after the successful reopening of the collapsed jump node.
Name Origin
In Greek mythology, Orestes is the son of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon, and is the subject of many myths centered around his madness and purification as a result of him killing his mother to avenge the death of Agamemnon at her hands eight years prior. The literal meaning of his name is "he who can conquer mountains".
