Description:
Tech Room Description
The Commonwealth's next generation of warships, the Seventh Macro Space Systems' 400-meter Northampton-class escort frigate is intended to finally replace the aging and obsolete Impervious and Rhea frigates. Featuring all the tenets of modern warship design such as shielding, gravity plating and Exarchy-style armor, the Northampton is intended as a strikecraft support platform much like the Alliance's Hurricane-class Destroyer, albeit much more effective. It is expected that within the next six years, the Northampton will replace all Impervious class vessels on the frontlines, with any surviving Impervious frigates being relegated to systems policing.
