Tech Room Description
The 900 meter long Askaeldian Orichalcum-class escort carrier is a warship that straddles the line between heavy destroyer and light cruiser. The smallest Exarchy warship with carrier capacity, the Orichalcum also carries numerous point-defense turrets and a powerful heavy thermal lance, allowing it to challenge our own cruiser-class ships in combat. The single heavy turret mount nearly has a full forward field of fire, but leaves the rear quarters of the ship vulnerable to capital ship attack. Askaeldian-designed warships are nearly fully-automated - a single Askaeldian interfaces with the craft's onboard computer, controlling every aspect of the ship.

In Greek mythology, Orichalcum was a precious metal that was only second to gold in value and was primarily found on the island of Atlantis.
