Description:

Wings of Dawn Tech Room Description

A highly specialized design, the Kaze interceptor excels at hit-and-run tactics. Hull optimization, lightweight armor, and an advanced plasma drive allow the Kaze to attain an impressive cruise and afterburner speeds (Up to 180). The Kaze has a high pitch turn rate but a rather slow yaw and roll turn rate. The lightweight Stork-C shield generator fitted on the craft puts up multiple thin energy layers, these layers are quickly regenerated after each impact. While the shield will not last long under sustained fire, it is ideal when combined with the Kaze's high speed. Allowing hit and run attacks with little downtime. The craft lacks the on-board ammunition storage space required for kinetic weapons, and thus can only be fitted with energy-based weaponry.

The reflective armor fitted on the Kaze is effective at absorbing hits from energy-based weapons, but is considerably less durable against solid projectiles.

It's fast, that's for sure, and while the shields may be weak, don't be fooled. The shields on the Kaze regenerate at incredible rates. However, it has horrendous turning on its sides, but nice up and down turning. In the end, the Kaze is probably best used for hit-and-run attacks on bombers and unsuspecting fighters and should steer clear of any capships who will quickly proceed to tear it to shreds.
