ACT 2, MISSION 1
Fighter squadron: 134th Barracudas
Description: The 134th protects a convoy and preforms combat evaluation of the GTM TAG-A missile, and GTA Charybdis.
Background
As a CEU or combat evaluation unit, the 134th gaurds a convoy of expimental TAG-A missiles and is supported by expirimental AWACS.
Walkthrough
This is a long and boring mission. The swirling gases of the nebula make gunnery difficult, so pick your shots carefully. Don't be afraid to use warheads here; I suggest a double bank of GTM Harpoons for your secondary armament.
The convoy you are tasked to defend consists of freighters and their cargo. The freighters must survive in order to complete the mission. Due to a 'bug', you can allow the cargo to be lost, as the game won't recognise that it was lost. The Shivans will use fighters and a few bombers to attack the convoy. Since the difficulty setting of the AI is decreased in each nebula mission, I suggest that you take on the bombers first.
The SC Malor, an SC Cain class cruiser will also attack the convoy. The Cain class is the weakest of all Shivan cruisers, so you won't find it difficult to destroy. However, you should destroy the main beam cannon below its nose to render her powerless against the freighters. You can also try to destroy the anti-fighter beam on the lower aft part of the ship to give you and your wingmen an easier time of taking her out. Once the two Alliance ships are reached (GTCv Warspite (GTCv Deimos class) and GTA Lucidity (GTA Charybdis class)), the mission is complete and you may return to base.
If things get too hot, a wing of Medusa bombers are at your disposal. Call them in if the freighters are in danger of destruction by the SC Malor.
