Destruction of Vasuda Prime

The Destruction of Vasuda Prime was an event caused by the Galactic Terran Alliance defeat at the Vasuda system. Due to the bombardments of the SD Lucifer, the terrain of Vasuda Prime was rendered uninhabitable, killing billions of innocent Vasudans.

Antecedences

The Great War reached the Vasuda system. The SD Eva and the SD Lucifer were leading the assault against the Vasudan fortresses. The GTD Galatea and her bomber wings caught the SD Eva off guard, attacked and destroyed the Shivan destroyer. The Galatea was left behind, not wanting to risk being destroyed by the overpowering Demon-class. The SD Lucifer launched fighter and bomber wings at the Galatea. The force the Shivans attacked with led Admiral Wolf to the conclusion that his ship is to be evacuated. The evacuation was costy: a number of escape pods were destroyed, but at least a number of crew could escape before the tragedy. Unexpectedly, the SD Lucifer appeared and fired her beam cannons at the Galatea which could not stand out for long. The ship was destroyed, killing Admiral Wolf on-board.

Evacuation of Vasuda Prime

The destruction of the Galatea ensured Shivan victory at Vasuda. The Lucifer entered the perimeter of Vasuda Prime and started bombarding the planet. After thirteen hours of non-stop bombardment, it was estimated that four billion Vasudans lost their lifes in the attacks. The planet's surface was completely destroyed, no cities were left intact. Shivan forces kept intercepting escaping Vasudan transports, shifting the number of casualties even further.

The GTD Bastion was one of the Terran warships assigned to assist the Evacuation, with additional military assistance, lives could be saved. The fleeing refugee transports found refuge at Aldebaran and Sirius.
