- I feel that some FRED newbies need to know the difference between the SJ and the SJD Sathanas ships, so I created this article in about 5-6 minutes. Sigtau 15:23, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

minicap.pof

"minicap.pof" (the low-poly Sathanas model) was not used to create the target view illusion, I think it was an entirely separate attempt to do the same thing, but was rejected by [V] in favor of this solution. Also, the model minicap.pof is not small either. In fact it has similar dimensions to the normal Sathanas. Just though I should clarify my previous edit in case it caused any confusion. - Snail 21:32, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

In retail FS2, minicap.pof does appear in the target view window, when targeting an SJD Sathanas. I don't know if that's been changed in FSOpen or not, though. -- BlueFlames 03:18, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
I doesn't. Taken from the retail table:
 $Name: SJD Sathanas
 $Short name: SDev
 $Species: Shivan
 +Tech Description:
XSTR("A Sathanas, off in the distance.", 3168)
 $end_multi_text
 $POF file: Blip.pof
 $POF target file: SuperCap2S-01.pof
 $Detail distance: (0, 2500, 5000, 14000)
The phrase "minicap.pof" does not appear anywhere in the FS2 retail ships table. - Snail 16:26, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

That's not minicap.pof. Look at the table- the target box uses the full SJ Sathanas model, and not minicap.pof. -ShadowGorrath
That thing sitting in your target box is the normal supercap2s-01.pof file which is the normal Sathanas pof. Minicap.pof appears to be a super-low detail version of supercap2s-01.pof. Open up minicap.pof itself and take a look. - Snail 15:21, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

"Deceiver"

Where did "Deceiver" come from? - Snail 17:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The SJ"D" probably. Though I always took it to me "distant" Ngtm1r 21:37, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
